With a full Hadley fixture list for only the second time this year, the first team travelled to AFC Dunstable and came back with a very good 3-0 win despite 5 changes to the team that beat Kings Langley last week to make it now a total of 11 of the first team squad out injured. However, the eleven still looked strong as we welcomed back Adam Robinson, Bashir Elsawahli, Lee Websdale, Ricky Burrows and Jamie Lever to the starting line-up. Bruce Hutchinson was pushed up front and he looked a threat along with Ben Alger and Marcel Jones. After a goalless first half, we got a bit of good fortune soon after the restart when an AFC Dunstable clearance bounced off the referee to give us a corner, from which Rhys Tyrell scored to give us the lead. We continued to deny the home side any real goalscoring chances and doubled our lead with a well taken finish from Marcel Jones when one on one with the keeper. Bashir Elsawahli then sealed the win from the penalty spot after Jones was fouled in the box.
The reserves also had a good result with a 3-3 draw at home against 2nd-placed Hoddesdon Town reserves. After being 2-1 down with five minutes remaining, we equalised only for Hoddesdon to regain their lead straight away. However, we still had time to equalise for the third time in the game just before the ref blew the final whistle. Matt Smithurst, Ade Osubu and Juan Cifuentes got the Hadley goals.
A Ricky Gibbs hat trick for the second time in the last two games, along with a Michael Kindrat goal gave the 3rd team a 4-1 win against Oxhey Jets A. We have a cup semi final against Hemel Hempstead Rovers to look forward to next week.
The 4th team were knocked out of the League Challenge Cup at the Quarter Final stage following a
4-3 defeat at Barnet MO. Graham Kennedy (2) and Steve Goddard got the Hadley goals.
